Museums and Galleries

Jeremy Mills Publishing specialises in work for Museums and Galleries. We have considerable experience of producing exhibition catalogues and promotional materials for art galleries, and are an established fine art book publisher. In addition to the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize Exhibition catalogue, we have also designed and printed the Watercolour Competition catalogue for the Parker Harris Partnership, one of the leading visual arts consultancies in the UK, on behalf of the Royal Watercolour Society.

Jeremy Mills Publishing offers a complete service for art galleries and museums in the UK and elsewhere, including design, editorial work and project management, through to printing, binding and distribution. We publish art books under our Northern Arts Publications imprint and are able to assist with specialist work such as indexing and image rights management. Books we have published recently include Frank Brangwyn 1857–1956 and Turner and Leeds: Image of Industry, on behalf of Leeds Museums and Galleries.

Case Studies

Leeds Museums and Galleries

Jeremy Mills Publishing recently published Turner and Leeds: Image of Industry on behalf of Leeds Museums and Galleries. The project involved a large amount of picture research, and the 145 images in the book were located and the rights managed by a member of our team. By undertaking this work, we were able to solve any rights issues and missing images on behalf of our client. Our graphic design team has also worked on the book, ensuring that each image matches the original as closely as possible and creating a design and layout for the book, as well as a cover design. The book was also proofread by an editor, in order to ensure that there were no errors in the work. The editorial, picture research and book design work has been fully project managed in-house by a member of our publishing team. Final copies of the book were printed and bound in West Yorkshire.

Royal Watercolour Society

In association with Parker Harris Partnership, one of the leading visual arts consultancies in the UK, Jeremy Mills Publishing designed and printed the Royal Watercolour Society and Sunday Times Watercolour Competition Exhibition Catalogue. Our in-house graphic design team worked on the layout and design of the catalogue, and the feel of the catalogue is modern and simple, allowing the images to take centre stage. Our designers worked with the images to ensure that they were of suitable quality for publication, and typeset the text. Once the design was complete, the catalogue was then printed and bound in the UK in time for the exhibition. Jeremy Mills Publishing also designed and produced invitations for the exhibition.

We also offer a marketing and distribution service and are able to market art and history books effectively using our website, online bookshop and contacts in the book trade. Using our secure payment system, we are able to take orders for books on behalf of our clients and can distribute publications directly from our warehouse.

We currently sell books on behalf of the following organisations:

  • Leeds Museums and Galleries
  • Yorkshire Sculpture Park
  • Museums and Galleries of Wales
